Biotechpolska: European strategic plan
Strategic reference framework, being negociated within the last few months, describes in general terms the way each member state will benefit from the EU resources in the next seven years.
The main objective of the EU for the period 2007-2013, «Contribute to cohesion and balanced development of the EU thanks to collective and sustainable growth of every country and every town»,can be explained with three strategic objectives:
All the member states have already presented to the Commision their national strategic reference frameworks. The first countries with their plan being approved are: Malta, Greece, Austria, Denmark and Lithuania. While developing the reference frameworks, the member states must take into account the common guidelines for 2007-2013, which emphasise the innovation and research areas as well as technology development, the society of information, the environmental protection, the renewable energy sources and the improved employment growth. Furthermore, the national strategic reference framewoks must be strongly related to the respective national reform programs in which the Member States put forward the measures proposed to be applied in order to gain the Lisbon strategic objective in favour of growth and employment.
