Biotechpolska: a commited company, the RSE
(Social Responsibility of Company)
The decisions taken during the Lisbon Summit, March 2000, in conclusion 39 say:
“The Council of Europe appeals to sense of responsibility of the companies in relation to proper practices regarding continuing education, organization of work, equality of opportunity, social integration and sustainable development.”
The Nice Summit, December 2000, claims that it's essencial to: “Support the iniciatives related with the company social resposibility and change management by means of a Commision Communication”.
The European Council of Gothenburg, Jun 2001, inscribes the environment into the communitary policies what leads it to be included into the RSE.
The Green Book definition of the RSE is: “A company voluntary implementation of social and environmental concerns into its commercial operations and relations with the commercial interlocutors.”
The European Commision, in July 2002, approved a Communication regarding the company's social responsibility establishing the communitary action principles in the RSE among which are mentioned:
Voluntary Nature of the RSE
The RSE practices are to be credible and transparent
The existence of a balanced approach between economic, social and ecological aspects and to the consumers' interests.
